Wine games hosted by your sommelier, to bring your team together around wine

Learning to taste while having fun is the whole idea behind these two games, designed and hosted by your sommelier. Whether you choose Casino du Vin or Détective du Vin, each turns a tasting into a good-natured competition where observation, intuition and teamwork matter more than prior knowledge.

The Cellar Guide hosts two team-building wine games, Casino du Vin and Détective du Vin, for groups of four or more with no group size limit, at €50 / person.

Two games, two different moods

Casino du Vin

Around the gaming table, every glass becomes a wager. Teams look, smell and taste before betting on what they think they recognise, and the game rewards daring as much as a good palate. Its delightfully theatrical atmosphere makes it ideal for an afterwork gathering or a team evening.

Détective du Vin

A wine is guilty, and it is up to your teams to unmask it. Colour, aromas and texture become clues to piece together, glass by glass, to solve the case before the others. More measured than the Casino, this format encourages observation and cooperation, making it particularly suited to offsites and team days.

What's included

  • The complete hosted experience, staging, rules and storytelling
  • A selection of wines suited to your chosen game
  • Glasses, tasting equipment and game materials
  • Travel within the Lyon region

€50 / person

The format fits your plans, whether opening an offsite, rounding off a working day or taking centre stage at an evening event.

Who is it for?

The games welcome groups of four or more, with no group size limit. Guests are divided into teams who compete throughout the game. The activity can take place at your offices, a hotel, on a riverboat or at an estate, in Lyon and the surrounding region.

Your host

Born in Lyon, I founded The Cellar Guide because I believe wine deserves more than a rushed tasting. After a master's degree in wine in Burgundy, I worked as a sommelier at a renowned restaurant, then headed the wines and spirits department of a major store, before devoting myself to sharing wine and its place at the table. At your events, I make sure everyone, from newcomer to keen enthusiast, leaves wanting to learn more.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need to know about wine?
Not at all. Both games are designed so that a newcomer has just as much chance as a keen enthusiast; intuition often wins over knowledge.
What about guests who do not drink alcohol?
Everyone tastes at their own pace, and spitting is encouraged. Observation and aromas remain at the heart of the game, so everyone can take part fully.
How do we book?
Tell me the date, the number of guests and which game appeals to you in the contact form. I will confirm availability and send you the booking confirmation.
